Ellen Bicknell BA (Hons) LRSM
Ellen graduated from the University of Nottingham with a degree in music and has an LRSM on clarinet. As a multi-instrumentalist, she regularly freelances on reed books in musical theatre pit-bands and orchestras, as well as a member of brass bands playing cornet & percussion.
At Alton Concert Band Ellen plays Alto Saxophone as part of ‘the best section in the band (her slightly biased opinion!!) She took on the role of Social Media and Communications Coordinator with the with the Haslemere Town Band, and has recently taken it up with Alton Concert Band as well! So check our socials and watch out for upcoming posts!! Over the last couple of years Ellen developed an interest in conducting, beginning with the Haslemere Town Band on an ad-hoc basis and full-time Musical Director of their Training Band. She is now extremely delighted to officially be Alton Concert Band’s Deputy Musical Director, and looks forward to working with the band in the coming year!
