Joint Concert with the Lydian Singers ‘Thank You For the Music’ Saturday 18th April 2026 Alton Maltings
Alton Concert Band is a friendly group of amateur musicians founded in 2010. Since then we have grown both in size and musical skill. We play a wide variety of light and classical music, including music from the shows, jazz and swing.
The band performs three formal concerts per year, in the Spring , Autumn and at Christmas . These concerts support local and national charities including the RNLI, Winchester Night Shelter, Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, Home-Start WeyWater, St. Michael’s Hospice and the Cardiac Rehabilitation Centre in Alton. Additionally we have been invited to perform at more informal events such as the Medstead Fete and the Christmas Lights Switch On in Alton town centre. We also add some Christmas cheer at Christmas time in Alton , performing well loved carols with audience participation.
On the 28th August, the band is back playing at The Last Night Of The Proms at the Gilbert White House, which was a great success last year .
In March 2026, we joined forces with our MD, Jeremy Morrish’s ladies choir , The Lydian Singers , at the Alton Maltings. That proved to be a very successful event.
Our concerts are an entertaining night out for people of all ages and backgrounds.
