Alton Concert Band is a friendly group of amateur musicians founded in 2010. Since then we have grown both in size and musical skill. We play a wide variety of light and classical music, including music from the shows, jazz and swing.
The band performs three formal concerts per year, in the Spring ,Autumn and at Christmas . These concerts support local and national charities including the RNLI, Winchester Night Shelter, Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, Home-Start WeyWater, St. Michael’s Hospice and the Cardiac Rehabilitation Centre in Alton. Additionally we have been invited to perform at more informal events such as the Medstead Fete and the Christmas Lights Switch On in Alton town centre. We also add some Christmas cheer at Chritmas time in Alton , performing well loved carols with audience participation.
The band gave a stellar performance at our late Queen’s Jubilee celebration in Alton Public Gardens this Summer , playing some of her favourite songs and hymns. She would have been proud of our band had she had the chance to hear us play.
Our concerts are an entertaining night out for people of all ages and backgrounds.
