Alton Concert Band was founded in 2010. It was created and initially led by Les Packett ,followed later by Hannah Foulkes until 2012 , when it was taken over by Ian Morrish . During Ian’s leadership, the band grew from strength to strength , growing from a small band consisting of around six players to the 40 + strong concert band it is today. Ian raised the band’s profile and standard under his 10 year leadership , encouraging and teaching the players to take on more demanding pieces and taking the band forward to the high profile band it is today.
The band now performs about six times a year at various events, ranging from local fetes to major fund-raising concerts . Visit our future Events page for future events. Each of the band concerts adopts a theme ranging raising money for local and national charities such as the Cardia Rehab, Bushy Leaze .
Our Musical Director, Ian Morrish sadly passed away in November 2022 and the baton was taken over by his son Jeremy.
