Alton Concert Band

Autumn Concert ‘Voyage of Discovery’ Concert 25th October 2025

Our Percussion section

Alton Concert Band is a friendly group of amateur musicians founded in 2010. Since then we have grown both in size and musical skill. We play a wide variety of light and classical music, including music from the shows, jazz and swing.
The band performs three formal concerts per year, in the Spring ,Autumn and at Christmas . These concerts support local and national charities including the RNLI, Winchester Night Shelter, Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, Home-Start WeyWater, St. Michael’s Hospice and the Cardiac Rehabilitation Centre in Alton. Additionally we have been invited to perform at more informal events such as the Medstead Fete and the Christmas Lights Switch On in Alton town centre. We also add some Christmas cheer at Christmas time in Alton , performing well loved carols with audience participation.
The band recently played at The Last Night Of The Proms at the Gilbert White House, which was a great success . The weather was even kind to us and the rained stopped as the band started to play.
Late Summer, we joined forces with our MD, Jeremy Morrish’s other band , The Woking Wind Orchestra, at the Gostrey Meadow in Farnham. That proved to be a very successful event.
Our concerts are an entertaining night out for people of all ages and backgrounds. If you are interested in booking the band, or if you play a brass , precussion or wind instrument and would like to play in a relaxed and friendly environment then get in touch and come and join in one of our rehearsals.
